Design Release Engineer

Job Title: DRE-Interior Restraints (Seat Belts & Airbags)

Work Location: Novi, MI

Contract: Fulltime

Job Description:

• Experience in engineering interior restraint systems (Seat Belt and Airbag) thru all development phases
• Experience with Catia software systems and pulling in and cutting sections in data.
• Understanding of restraint system requirements Seat Belt and Airbag
• Experience in DV/PV testing phase for restraint systems (Seat Belt and Airbag)
• Fast resolution of open issues for restraint systems
• Plus, to have knowledge of the VW systems
• Strong understanding of the quality process from DFMEA, PFMEA and Control plans
• Take direction from Scout Engineering to modify components for engineering/design/safety requirements
• Work with Supplier(s) to ensure proper upload of data into the VW system
• Part updates and changes to existing parts / assemblies needed to support manufacturing feasibility, part performance improvements, and/or changes to interfacing components /systems.
• Support restraint systems commodity DV/PV testing and lead issue resolution
• Work with supplier to ensure tooling timing supports downstream deliverables
• Issue resolution for all open restraint issues thru build phase(s)
