Position Summary
Camden Rockport Middle School is hiring a year-round Custodian Shift Lead. This position oversees custodial operations when the Head Custodian is not present and is the point person for the 2nd shift team. Normal work schedule is 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. The successful candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekend rotation, and adapt to different assignments from day to day.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee building cleaning, maintenance, and repair requirements during shifts.
Serve as the designated person in charge of facility security during shifts.
Document facility and personnel concerns during shift and report them to the Head Custodian.
Maintain a clean, safe, and functional environment within the school buildings and grounds, including but not limited to:
General floor care and cleaning
Restroom maintenance, including sanitizing and stocking
Waste management
Window/Wall cleaning
Perform minor repairs to ensure proper functioning of building systems.
Aid in set-up for special events.
Ensure clean school grounds, including litter removal.
Aid with snow/ice removal as needed.
Qualifications/Skills
Knowledge of safety procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery.
Ability to perform a wide range of cleaning duties.
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and other staff.
Time management and prioritization skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Dexterity in problem-solving.
Requirements
Background check, including fingerprinting.
Maine Department of Education CHRC Approval.
Pay and Benefits
Pay starts at $21.27 per hour with the possibility of an increase based on experience, within the parameters of the applicable contract
