Overview
As a Senior Indirect Government Buyer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in driving our government procurement strategy following FAR regulations. Your expertise in procurement and supply chain management will be instrumental in driving business growth and performance.
Our Indirect Procurement unit focuses on efficiently managing non-production-related purchases through three key pillars. These pillars include:
Category Sourcing:
handles expenditures over $250k by developing strategies and managing contracts.
Strategic Buyers:
manage sourcing for amounts under $250k, ensuring alignment with global goals and effective supplier management.
Transactional Tactical Buyers:
deal with the operational side, including purchase order conversions and vendor maintenance.
Together, these teams ensure compliance and support the organization's financial goals. You will report directly to our Strategic Sourcing Manager, and you’ll work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location. External hires will begin with 90 days onsite before transitioning to a hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact Honeywell's efficiency and effectiveness in government procurement, ensuring that we acquire the necessary resources to support our operations while maximizing value and minimizing risk.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the procurement of indirect goods and services for government contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Compliance Package Management: Oversee the preparation and submission of compliance packages for government contracts, ensuring all documentation adheres to regulatory standards.
Supplier Risk Assessment: Conduct regular assessments of supplier risk profiles to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies.
Procurement Process Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline procurement processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, specifically in government contracting.
Strong knowledge of government procurement regulations and compliance requirements, including FAR 12 and FAR 15.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as data analysis techniques.
Experience managing contracts and supplier relationships.
Fluency in speaking, reading and writing English and Spanish.
