Photodiode Design Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a High-Speed Photodiode Design Engineer to contribute to the design and development of next-generation optoelectronic devices. This role involves close collaboration with fabrication partners and cross-functional teams to bring new products from concept through volume manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize photodiode epitaxial structures for high-performance optoelectronic applications
- Develop mask layouts for device fabrication and integration
- Analyze device characterization data and correlate performance trends with design parameters
- Collaborate with epitaxy, process integration, packaging, and test teams across the full product development lifecycle
- Lead or support failure analysis to identify root causes of electrical, optical, or reliability issues
- Support wafer-level characterization, reliability studies, and process optimization efforts
- Work cross-functionally to improve manufacturability and production yield
- Occasional travel to support collaboration with partners and manufacturing sites
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related
- 5+ years of industry experience in optoelectronic or semiconductor device development preferred
- Hands-on experience in photodiode design and development required
- Strong understanding of device physics, modeling, and performance trade-offs
- Experience with epitaxial processes, wafer fabrication, packaging, testing, and reliability/failure analysis
- Demonstrated ability to support designs through development into scalable manufacturing
- Strong collaboration skills across multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and dependable in a fast-paced technical environment
