Retail & Customer Experience Manager
We are seeking a reliable, customer-focused individual to join our team as a

Retail & Customer Experience Manager . This versatile role encompasses daily retail shop operations, including frontline customer service, order fulfillment and distribution, inventory management, maintaining store standards, and support for brand events. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about the outdoor lifestyle, thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, and is available to help open and close the shop 4-5 days per week. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a growing American-made brand while working in a dynamic, community-oriented setting.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Service

Actively greeting customers and establishing a genuine rapport

Incorporating extensive product knowledge into customer interactions, highlighting the unique features and benefits of our products

Handle inquiries via phone, email, and in-person with professionalism and enthusiasm

Process sales transactions accurately using POS system

Resolve customer concerns promptly and effectively to ensure positive experiences

Use Gorgias (CX platform) to manage and organize customer support tickets

E-Commerce, Shipping & Fulfillment

Manage all online order fulfillment through Shopify and ShipStation

Pick, pack, and ship online orders efficiently and accurately

Prepare packages for shipping, ensuring proper labeling and quality checks

Process and manage online returns and exchanges using Loop

Retail Shop Operations

Open and close the store according to schedule, including cash handling, security procedures, and store readiness

Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor and fitting rooms

Set up and maintain merchandise displays in line with brand standards

Monitor and replenish stock on the sales floor from backroom inventory

Inventory Management

Assist with receiving, checking in, and organizing new shipments

Conduct regular inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock audits

Update inventory records accurately in Shopify

Identify and report discrepancies or low-stock items

Maintain organized backstock and shipping areas

Community and Brand Engagement

Support in-store and off-site brand events, pop-ups, and community activations

Assist with event setup, customer engagement, product demonstrations, and breakdown

Promote upcoming events and brand initiatives to customers

Contribute to strengthening DESO’s presence within the Reno outdoor and lifestyle community

Qualifications & Requirements

Previous retail, customer service, or operations experience preferred (outdoor, apparel, or lifestyle retail a plus)

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine passion for customer service

Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30-50 lbs, and perform physical tasks such as stocking and moving merchandise

Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a small team

Basic computer skills (POS systems, inventory software, email, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace)

Availability to work 4-5 days per week (Tues-Sat), including opening/closing shifts (flexible days/hours within retail schedule)

Enthusiasm for outdoor activities, adventure, and American-made products is highly desirable

Must be able to pass a background check if required
