Charge Capture/Revenue Integrity Analyst
Supports accurate hospital billing by auditing charges against medical record documentation, reviewing billing edits, assigning appropriate modifiers, ensuring payer compliance, and partnering with clinical and revenue teams to prevent denials and improve charge capture.
Key Responsibilities
Audit itemized charges against medical records for accuracy and compliance.
Review observation accounts, including carve‑outs, extended recovery, and event‑based charging.
Validate documentation for infusion and injection charges.
Conduct patient‑requested, scheduled, and random audits.
Ensure charge accuracy prior to billing and claim submission.
Research and resolve billing edits related to medical necessity and compliance.
Assign HCPCS codes and modifiers and advise billing staff as needed.
Review remittance advice and denial codes to identify trends and root causes.
Serve as a resource for charging, coding, and billing questions.
Partner with revenue‑producing departments to identify missed or incorrect charges.
Provide education on proper charge capture and documentation practices.
Collaborate with PFS, HIM, Audit, Regulatory and external partners.
Qualifications
CPC or other coding certification required.
Recent coding experience in an acute‑care hospital.
Strong outpatient coding experience preferred.
Knowledge of ICD‑10‑CM, CPT, HCPCS, and payer rules.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Work Environment
Mon–Fri, 8‑hour shifts (7 AM–5 PM window).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.00/hr.
