Development Manager - Onshore Wind

The Sustainable Partnership, Houston, TX, United States

We are working with a well capitalised renewable energy developer to find an experienced Wind Development Manager ideally based in Houston.
This is a high-ownership role, you'll be the lead voice on wind development across Texas, with real influence over strategy and a direct line to senior leadership.
If you've got deep Texas wind experience, know the ERCOT landscape inside out, and want to build something rather than manage someone else's pipeline, this is worth a conversation.
The role

You'll own the full development lifecycle for utility scale wind projects across Texas, primarily West Texas. That means everything from early site screening and fatal flaw analysis through to land control, regulatory permitting, and ERCOT interconnection.
On the regulatory side, you'll be leading filings, navigating the DoD/FAA Clearing House, and handling NEPA and ESA consultations where applicable. You'll also be the face of the project locally, building relationships with landowners, county commissioners, and community stakeholders.
Who we are looking for

5+ years in utility-scale US wind development, with at least 2 projects taken through NTP or into construction
Direct, hands on experience with FAA 7460-1 filings and turbine layout strategies
Working knowledge of the USFWS Eagle ITP process, Tier 1/2, pre-con monitoring, USFWS negotiation
Solid understanding of ERCOT interconnection and the Texas transmission landscape
Landowner negotiation experience, wind leases and option agreements across multi parcel portfolios
Genuine fluency with the Texas regulatory environment
