The Opportunity
This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location within the CHMN Office of the Chairman division. The Project Manager will lead large‑scale facility expansion projects in a highly regulated environment. This role encompasses strategic planning, execution, and delivery of GMP‑compliant capital projects including new builds, retrofits, and utility installations. The Project Manager will ensure alignment with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and business objectives while managing cross‑functional teams and external contractors.
What You’ll Work On
Lead planning and execution of complex facility expansion projects.
Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
Manage internal engineering teams and external service providers (design firms, contractors, suppliers).
Oversee project budgets, schedules, and documentation to ensure timely and compliant delivery.
Conduct constructability reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering.
Ensure adherence to GMP, safety, and quality standards throughout project lifecycle.
Support commissioning, qualification, and turnover of facilities.
Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
Drive continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives.
Utilize tools such as MS Project, AutoCAD, SAP for project tracking and reporting.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
PMP Certification is a plus.
10+ years of experience managing capital projects in regulated industries (medical device, nutrition, pharmaceutical).
Proven track record of delivering large‑scale projects (> $2.5MM).
Strong understanding of GMP regulations, construction codes, and validation processes.
Experience in contractor selection, procurement, and performance management.
Excellent leadership, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast‑paced environments.
Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Spanish language is a plus.
