Are you an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with a background in cardiothoracic surgery? We are actively seeking a skilled APP for a high-acuity hospital-based locum assignment in Brooklyn, NY.

This is a hands-on, procedure-heavy role ideal for providers who thrive in fast-paced surgical environments and are confident managing complex cardiac patients.

Clinical Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be deeply involved in the care and management of cardiothoracic surgery patients. Responsibilities include:

• Performing and assisting with bedside and surgical procedures
• Managing invasive lines and devices, including:

  • Arterial lines (A-lines)
  • Central venous lines
  • Swan-Ganz catheter placement
  • Chest tube removals
  • Balloon pump (IABP) removal
    • Providing pre- and post-operative patient care
    • Monitoring critically ill patients and responding to clinical changes
    • Collaborating closely with surgeons, intensivists, and nursing staff
    • Ensuring accurate and timely clinical documentation

Schedule & Assignment Details:

Schedule: 3 shifts per week
Shift Length: 13 hours
Shift Options:

  • Days: 7:00 AM 8:00 PM
  • Nights: 7:00 PM 8:00 AM
    Rotation: Includes days, nights, and weekends
    Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 90 days

Required Qualifications:

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in New York
• Active New York State License (required)
• Prior experience in cardiothoracic surgery or critical care strongly preferred
• Proficiency in performing advanced procedures and line placements
• Must be COVID-19 and influenza vaccinated
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in high-pressure environments
