
Equipment Manager
Knife River Corporation, Casper, WY, United States
Responsibilities
Provide shop management support for Knife River operations to maximize utilization and reduce cost
Work closely with other Knife River shops for consistency in repair techniques, safety, policies and practices
Coordinate with maintenance supervisor for repair and service of trucks and equipment
Monitor fleet compliance, work with locations to assure regulatory compliance and FMCSRs
Attend Operations and Production meetings to understand upcoming needs and to provide operations with updates on equipment
Develop safety awareness programs for shop/field mechanics, and attend safety meetings in all locations
Participate in the review of any accident or near miss involving shop personnel and prepare reports to Vice President on incidents and suggestions for preventative actions
Assist in annual budget process and establish long‑term targets
Work with Operations on all major repairs and PMs and manage monthly expenses
Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors
Perform tasks that may require lifting 10 pounds frequently, 50 pounds occasionally
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory level position in shop and maintenance related fields
Extensive heavy‑duty diesel mechanic experience with knowledge of construction equipment and trucks (minimum 5 years)
Must have a current valid driver’s license and maintain an adequate driving record
Computer literacy using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel preferred
Strong supervisory skills
Preferred Requirements
Experience using JDE, spreadsheet servers, BI, Fuel Force
Prior experience as a heavy equipment mechanic
Prior experience as a shop supervisor for a construction material‑based business
