Overview

We at Eastbrook Healthcare Center are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our nursing leadership team. The ADON will assist the Director of Nursing in managing the operations of the nursing department while ensuring high‑quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves supporting nursing staff, overseeing patient care practices, fostering a collaborative environment, and contributing to the overall strategic goals of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

Assist the Director of Nursing in developing and implementing policies and procedures for the nursing department.
Supervise nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards of care.
Act as a mentor and resource for nursing staff, promoting professional development and continuous learning.

Quality Assurance

Participate in quality assurance programs and initiatives to monitor patient care outcomes and nursing practice.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient assessments and care planning.
Address and resolve patient and family complaints, ensuring a positive experience and outcome.

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and facility policies.
Assist in conducting periodic audits and assessments of nursing operations, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Patient Care Management

Oversee the delivery of high‑quality nursing care to patients, ensuring that all medical and nursing interventions are carried out effectively.
Assess patient care needs and coordinate with nursing staff to ensure appropriate care delivery.

Communication and Collaboration

Maintain effective communication with all departments and administration to foster a collaborative work environment.
Regularly meet with nursing staff to discuss care issues, staff performance, and patient care improvements.

Skills and Qualifications

Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse license in Ohio.
Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
Strong knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and standards of care.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
