Description
Colt Electro Optics (Colt Optics), a division of Colt CZ Group North America, is looking for an Inventory Warehouse Specialist.
Located in Traverse City, Michigan, Colt Optics is a global supplier of electro-optics, magnified optics, night vision systems and other weapons, accessories and enablers.
Summary: The Inventory Warehouse Specialist will be responsible for accurate inventory management and day-to-day warehouse operations including shipping and receiving, RMA returns processing, quality inspections and basic procurement support to ensure timely fulfillment and product integrity.
Key Responsibilities include the following but not limited to:
Shipping & Receiving
Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
Unload/load pallet and stage shipments for processing.
Prepare, pack, and label outbound orders; generate shipping documentation and freight carrier manifests.
Schedule freight carrier pickups and track shipments until delivery confirmation.
Inventory Management
Maintain accurate inventory counts using ERP system; perform regular cycle counts and assist with full physical inventory work efforts.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies; update records and create adjustment reports.
Support and maintain warehouse layout for efficient storage and picking.
RMA & Returns Processing
Process returned merchandise (RMA): inspect returned items, verify return reasons, and document findings.
Coordinate repairs, replacements, or refunds per company policy.
Restock approved returns or direct defective items to quarantine for disposition.
Quality Inspections
Perform incoming and outgoing product inspections for damage, defects, and compliance with specifications.
Document inspection results, create nonconformance reports, and escalate quality issues.
Implement and follow company procedures and quality checklists.
Procurement Support
Assist purchasing with sourcing standard inventory
on-inventory items, requesting quotes, and placing routine purchase orders.
Monitor stock levels for fast-moving SKUs and manage replenishment requests.
Receive and verify supplier deliveries; communicate and escalate supplier performance issues.
Safety & Documentation
Follow all workplace environmental safety, handling, and hazardous material procedures.
Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation for audits and reporting.
Use barcode scanners and inventory software daily.
Qualifications
Education/Experience: Associate degree or equivalent; 3-5 years in warehouse, shipping/receiving, inventory control, or related role.
Skills:
Proficiency with ERP system and MS Excel.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting up to 40 lbs., frequent standing/walking for shifts) and operating material handling equipment.
Basic procurement knowledge and vendor communication skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Certifications (preferred): Forklift certification, OSHA safety training, quality inspection training.
