Position Summary:
A warehouse receiver plays a crucial role in warehouse operations, ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and recorded. Their primary responsibilities typically include:
Receiving shipments: Checking and verifying incoming goods against shipping documentation, like packing slips or purchase orders.
Inspection: Inspecting the goods for any damage or discrepancies and reporting any issues to management or the vendor.
Recording inventory: Accurately entering received goods into the warehouse's inventory management system.
Labeling and organizing: Labeling received goods and organizing them into their proper storage locations.
Collaboration: Working closely with warehouse staff, including forklift operators, pickers, and packers, to ensure smooth workflow.
Returns handling: Processing any returns or exchanges of defective or incorrect items.
Safety compliance: Ensuring all safety protocols and procedures are followed during receiving and storing goods.
Skills & Qualifications:
Attention to detail
Basic math skills required
Computer proficiency for inventory systems
Ability to operate warehouse equipment (pallet jacks and forklifts)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work on a variety of tasks as needed
Ability to work independently or with a team
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Physical requirements include lifting to 50 lbs., bending, standing and climbing
Warehouse environment, working around forklifts, pallet jacks, and racking
Ability to work on feet, standing or walking, for an entire 8-hour shift
Ability to work in environment that is not climate controlled. Temperatures inside the warehouse rise in the summer and fall in the winter
