Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a trusted Maximus company, is seeking passionate and skilled providers to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across New York. This role offers the chance to support our nation's veterans while maintaining your professional independence and schedule.

In this position, you will conduct interview-based assessments primarily, with some physical evaluations such as range of motion and muscle strength testing. The role involves no prescribing or treatment, focusing solely on clinical evaluation and report submission. If you own an office in Ithaca or Trumansburg, NY, and are available to work one or more days per week, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute meaningfully while enjoying flexible hours.

Required Skills:

• Medical license valid in New York State
• Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine
• Experience with compensation and pension evaluations preferred
• Excellent clinical interview skills and physical assessment capabilities
• Strong organizational and report-writing skills
• Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience performing veteran-related assessments
• Familiarity with VA disability evaluation protocols
• Efficient in documentation and administrative follow-up

Preferred Education and Experience:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 2 years clinical practice experience
• Prior experience with compensation and pension exams desirable

Other Requirements:

• Own and operate an appropriate medical office location in NY
• Willingness to complete credentialing and onboarding swiftly
• Commitment to ongoing administrative duties, including report addendums and medical opinions
• Local candidates only; travel expenses included in rates
• Available starting March 6, 2026

Candidates seeking a flexible, rewarding role providing competitive compensation are encouraged to apply. This role offers a flat rate of $800 for half-day shifts (up to 4 hours) and $1,600 for full-day shifts (5 hours or more), with a one-time bonus of $650 upon training completion and first exam performance.
