As a Locum Physician specializing in General Medicine, you will perform vital Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, contributing directly to Veterans' well-being and benefit determinations. This role offers the flexibility to work in your own office, on a part-time basis, with a focus on high-quality, interview-based assessments that require no prescribing or treatment.
Required Skills:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with active, unrestricted Kentucky medical license.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related fields with general medicine experience.
- Proven experience in performing assessments, exams, or evaluations; familiarity with compensation and pension processes is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct professional interviews and physical assessments.
- Excellent organizational skills for timely report submission and documentation.
- Reliability and ability to follow strict procedural guidelines.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience with VA or military-related assessments.
- Certification in disability evaluation, compensation & pension exams, or related credentials.
- Ability to work independently within a established protocol.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure to practice medicine in Kentucky.
- At least 1-3 years of clinical experience, ideally in general medicine or assessment roles.
Other Requirements:
- Own a suitable office within a 50-mile radius of Paducah, KY.
- Availability to work 2 days per week, with flexibility for 4-hour half-days or full days.
- Reliable internet and communication tools for report submission.
- Willingness to undergo credentialing and onboarding processes.
- Local candidates only; travel is included in compensation rates.
Enjoy competitive pay with a flat rate of $800 for 4-hour shifts (or less) and $1,600 for full-day shifts (5 hours or longer). A bonus of $650 is awarded upon completion of required training and your first exams. This PRN position provides ongoing opportunities to serve Veterans, with all assessments conducted in your own office and a straightforward rate structure.
