Senior Technical Procurement Specialist Electrical Systems
Location:
North Houston (Onsite)
We re seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to support sourcing and purchasing for
electrical systems and capital equipment
across project-based environments. This role partners closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure the right equipment is selected, delivered on time, and aligned with project requirements.
What You Ll Do
Lead procurement of electrical equipment including switchgear, drives, control systems, and power distribution components
Review technical specifications and ensure purchased materials align with project requirements and engineering designs
Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers to support cost and schedule targets
Track procurement status across projects, including long-lead items and delivery timelines
Work closely with engineering and project teams to evaluate equipment options and substitutions
Manage supplier relationships, including expediting, issue resolution, and performance tracking
Support inventory planning and spare parts strategies
Assist with cost tracking, reporting, and identifying opportunities for savings
Maintain accurate documentation of purchases, materials, and supplier communications
What You Bring
5+ years of procurement experience, with at least 3 years supporting electrical equipment or power systems
Strong understanding of industrial electrical components (power distribution, controls, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, or specifications
Experience working in project-driven or capital equipment environments
Strong negotiation, organization, and communication skills
Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
Nice to Have
Background in industrial, energy, or large-scale project environments
Experience sourcing complex or long-lead equipment packages
Familiarity with improving procurement processes or supplier strategies
Bachelor s degree in a related field (Engineering, Supply Chain, etc.)
