Medical Supply Delivery Specialist
Responsible for delivery of medical supplies and equipment to nursing units and departments. Responsible for the retrieval of all equipment from the soil rooms for cleaning. Responsible for maintaining control of inventory through distribution of supplies or inventory par-level supply carts. Responsible for equipment racking and logging of equipment through equipment racking system. Required to have basic knowledge of Microsoft, Window, and Internet Computer systems. Must be efficient with the handheld inventory control system and Par Cart maintenance application of Premier. Under the direct supervision of the Central Stores West Supervisor or Central Stores West Manager. Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.
Essential Job Functions:
Folding and wrapping surgical gowns for sterile processing.
Delivery of medical supplies and equipment to nursing stations and departments.
Maintains control of inventory through distribution of supplies pulled corrected.
Retrieves soil supplies and equipment from soil rooms for cleaning and following standard precaution procedures and department requirements.
Assist in correct posting of charges of supplies and insure the correct item and quantity are placed on the patient charge requisition.
Assist in inventory control of equipment and tracking of equipment by properly logging equipment via computer.
Acts as initial contact to the departments either by phone or personal interactions solving problems or directing to appropriate personnel in a congenial manner.
Follows telephone courtesy by answering promptly and courteously, identify by name and department, uses a helpful tone of voice at all times.
Responds immediately on stat request for patient supplies and equipment.
Responsible for the inventorying of all par level supply carts at each nursing station and downloading the inventory of the par level supply carts.
Responsible for folding and inspecting linens for special procedures, carts, and surgery.
Responsible for assisting with cycle count preparation and inventory.
Responsible for product and equipment knowledge.
Responsible for assisting with special projects and other jobs as specified by supervisors, manager, or director.
Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
Job Specifications:
Education: Ability to read, perform mathematical calculation as acquired through a high school graduate or the equivalent.
Experience: Inventory Management experience. Must be proficient with Windows based computer applications.
