Position Summary
The Inventory Control Clerk supports the Inventory Control Supervisor in maintaining accurate records of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. This role ensures all inventory transactions are processed correctly and efficiently to support production schedules and prevent shortages or overages. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Perform daily inventory activities, including receiving, storing, issuing, and counting of materials.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the inventory system.
Assist in conducting regular cycle counts and monthly physical inventories.
Identify and report discrepancies or damaged materials to the Inventory Control Supervisor.
Help organize and maintain warehouse areas, labeling, and bin locations for efficient storage.
Support the movement of materials between departments and facilities as required.
Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, and Shipping to ensure timely material availability.
Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Target: 98%
Cycle Count Completion Rate
Target: 100% adherence to schedule
Inventory Turnover Ratio
Target: Maintain balance to minimize overstock
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications:
Required:
2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or material handling environment
Basic understanding of inventory management systems and practices
Experience with QuickBooks or similar inventory tracking software
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate material handling equipment
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Preferred:
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Forklift certification or OSHA safety training
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S practices
Associate's degree or coursework in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
Work Environment
Industrial warehouse/manufacturing floor with exposure to machinery, noise, and fluctuating temperatures
Must wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety protocols
