Overview:
This locum position involves providing outpatient and inpatient oncology services at a leading cancer center, with a focus on adult and geriatric patient populations. Enjoy a schedule without regular call duties during your assignment, with the possibility of call responsibilities if transitioned to permanent placement. The role emphasizes collaboration in multidisciplinary teams, including participation in tumor boards and management of complex cases such as bone marrow transplants. The facility utilizes the EPIC EMR system, ensuring streamlined documentation and patient care.
Required Skills:
- Board-certified or eligible in Medical Oncology, with valid and active medical licensure
- Proven experience in outpatient and inpatient oncology settings
- Strong knowledge of chemotherapy administration and management
- Excellent clinical judgment and patient management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with hematology, including benign hematology cases
- Participation in tumor boards and complex case discussions
- Experience in managing bone marrow transplants
- Comfort with blood bank procedures and ordering advanced diagnostics
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology
- Minimum of 2 years post-residency or fellowship experience in oncology
- Prior experience working in a cancer center or similar setting
Other Requirements:
- Credentialing estimated around 60 days
- Willingness to travel as reimbursed for flights, hotels, rental cars, and mileage
- Valid DEA license and state medical license required
- Ability to provide care in adult and geriatric patient populations
