Overview
This Expediter plays a critical role in ensuring production runs efficiently by keeping materials, parts, and information flowing smoothly across departments. The position works closely with purchasing, inventory, production, and program management teams to prevent shortages, eliminate delays, and support on‑time delivery of products.
Key Responsibilities
Monitoring the flow of materials, parts, and components to ensure availability for scheduled production.
Quickly addressing and resolving material shortages on the production floor.
Ensuring jobs are fully staged and ready for production.
Moving and staging materials for production as they are required.
Reviewing production schedules and purchase orders to determine delivery priorities.
Coordinating with purchasing, inventory, production, and program management teams to maintain workflow.
Facilitating discussions to address bottlenecks or production issues.
Identifying and mitigating potential disruptions before they impact production.
Cross‑training to support additional inventory and supply chain functions as needed.
Qualifications
Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Experience working with ERP systems, MRP planning, or supply chain software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory tracking systems.
Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve issues quickly.
Willingness to stay active and move throughout the facility during the workday.
Ability to collaborate effectively across departments to maintain operational efficiency.
