IT Software Development Specialist Sr
Primary Purpose
To develop, maintain, test and debug software in a Windows client/server environment using languages and platforms such as PL/SQL, Oracle, Progress 4GL ADE, .Net, Microsoft SQL, or other relevant systems. The role involves defining system scope, preparing detailed specifications, and designing, coding, testing, documenting, and maintaining programs.

Essential Responsibilities
Become familiar with application components including reports, parameters, claims management, intake services, carrier/client interfaces, and vendor/business partner interfaces.
Analyze user needs and assist in designing specifications to meet end‑user requirements.
Develop and modify software to meet the outlined specifications.
Maintain software to satisfy insurance carrier and regulatory group requirements.
Test and debug assigned projects and support testing for other programming staff.
Prepare documentation for new or existing software.
Investigate support escalations and correct data or software issues.
Assist in the professional growth of fellow programmers.
Follow departmental standards and guidelines for design and development.
Deliver and maintain high‑quality customer service for clients.
Stay current with language revisions and technology advances.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required; Information Systems or Computer Science major preferred.
Four to six years of language development experience in a relevant language and/or business analytical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven experience interpreting user requirements, designing business applications, and developing such applications.
Perform other duties as assigned.
