Position Overview
As a Quality Specialist, you will report directly to the Quality Manager and administer the Project Quality Plan. In this role you will be responsible for assuring that quality standards and procedures are disseminated and implemented on the project you are on.
Responsibilities include coordinating, documenting, and reporting quality control and quality assurance activities. You may also witness and perform quality control inspections and tests, and provide required documentation for assigned areas or disciplines on a project. Your specific job functions and areas of responsibility will be determined by the Project Quality Manager and communicated through initial performance expectation reviews. To maximize your effectiveness, you must be able to develop a thorough understanding of the project scope and schedule as they relate to quality.

Kiewit’s Northwest District is headquartered in Vancouver, Washington. We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, water resources, and underground utilities. We are looking for hardworking individuals with a passion for construction who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty!
Location
Relocation is required on a project-to-project basis. Our Northwest District currently builds projects in Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington.
Responsibilities
Maintain a high level of understanding of company standards and guidelines
Maintain Client Critique Schedules, Tracking and Trends
Provide updates to employees on client critique results
Maintain Corrective Action Reports
Facilitate Root Cause Analysis
Maintain a solid knowledge base of District Quality Manuals
Identify potential quality incidents before they arise
Participate in district standards meetings and provide input/feedback as it relates to quality assurance
Understand requirements of ISO 9001 Standards
Help in the planning of, and participate in, internal quality audits. Conduct reviews of required documents and support materials, interview staff, and administer online audit questions to assess compliance with documented procedures
Provide administrative support for audits, other Quality Department programs and initiatives, and Monthly Operations Reviews
Facilitate quality presentations
Disseminate quality information in the office and on the intranet, send results to managers on a weekly basis, write monthly articles for company newsletter, and present information at department discipline meetings
Mentor Project Quality Specialist
Draft and maintain a Project Quality Plan for any given project, including the required Quality activities and associated metrics
Qualifications
Ability to travel and relocate as needed
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, welding technology or related field
Working knowledge of quality control procedures relating to construction activities is preferred
ASQ, CQM, CQA or CWI certification and inspection experience a plus
Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in a wide-ranging climate and environment
Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
Passion for safety, with the ability to help ensure that nobody gets hurt
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail

Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required
May work at various different locations and conditions may vary
Compensation
Base Compensation: $95,000/yr - $100,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skill set, and/or location)
