Senior Manager, eCommerce Payments & Fraud
Location:

Hybrid (El Segundo, CA and/or Burbank/North Hollywood, CA)

What You’ll Be Doing:
The Senior Manager of eCommerce Payments & Fraud owns how Golden Pet Brands transacts across all digital properties. This system-thinking role leads the company’s payments strategy, fraud prevention, chargeback management, payment gateway performance, and vendor negotiations. Reporting to the VP of IT, the role partners with Finance, Marketing, and Product to optimize checkout conversion, reduce payment risk, and drive innovation in emerging commerce capabilities.

Own the company’s fraud prevention program including team management, tooling, rule design, vendor management, and fraud performance reporting.

Lead chargeback and dispute strategy including representation processes and card network compliance.

Manage payment gateway performance, authorization rates, decline recovery, and cost optimization.

Oversee processor relationships (Braintree, CyberSource, PayPal) and future partners.

Lead vendor evaluations and RFPs for gateways, fraud platforms, and checkout technologies.

Build reporting dashboards for payment performance, chargebacks, and fraud trends.

Evaluate emerging commerce technologies, including BNPL, in-ad checkout, and real-time payments.

Drive partnerships with CRO and marketing teams to pursue continuous improvement within our payment ecosystems.

Own resolution of payment processing-related incidents (platform outages, anomalies).

Qualifications

Strong operational knowledge of payment gateway management, authorization optimization, and chargeback operations.

Experience designing fraud prevention strategies and managing fraud analytics teams.

Deep understanding of subscription commerce, retry logic, and payment lifecycle management.

Ability to build financial models and dashboards for payment performance.

Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating processor agreements.

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience: 7+ years in eCommerce payments with at least 5 years managing a payments function.

Experience operating fraud prevention and chargeback management programs.

Experience with payment gateways, A/B testing frameworks, and commerce analytics platforms.

Preferred Experience:

Bachelor's Degree, experience with FPA, Decision Manager, and other platform fraud management systems.

Base Salary: $117,000-$146,000, plus bonus potential.

Salary is based on a wide range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geographical location.
