Hours of operation are between 5:30 AM and 7:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, with one day off per week.

Primary shift will be 10:30 AM to close (approximately 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM).

Summary
We are hiring a Logistics Specialist to support a fast-paced transportation and delivery operation in Suffolk, VA. This role is responsible for coordinating logistics activities including order entry, routing, dispatching, and real-time delivery tracking. The ideal candidate will have prior routing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering excellent customer service. This position works closely with customers, drivers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries for a dedicated client.

Key Responsibilities

Assist customers and business partners via phone and email

Handle customer concerns in a calm and professional manner

Diagnose, assess, and resolve logistics and delivery issues

Monitor delivery routes and driver performance to ensure on-time service

Prepare documentation for daily routes including PODs and manifests

Process order changes, updates, and cancellations

Check in drivers and trucks upon return from deliveries

Verify returned products for proper disposition including haul away, return to vendor, or reschedule

Maintain and update customer profiles and enter load information into internal systems

Communicate with account managers regarding load issues and resolution steps

Provide real-time updates on pickups and deliveries, ensuring loads arrive on time and in good condition

Take check calls from drivers and confirm delivery timelines

Validate load data prior to completion for accurate reporting and billing

Investigate and document overages, shortages, and damages

Schedule and reschedule delivery appointments based on customer and operational needs

Provide clear routing instructions and directions to drivers

Required Qualifications

1+ year of logistics or transportation experience

Routing experience is required

General knowledge of the transportation industry

Strong customer service and problem-solving skills

Ability to multitask and stay highly organized in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
