As a Transportation EIT, you will support various projects with multiple disciplines such as roadway, drainage, traffic, and structures. You will have the opportunity to support each discipline as you rotate between disciplines over the early years of your employment to get a better understanding of the overall engineering design process and interactions.
What are the core responsibilities for the role?
Support project managers and engineers with engineering design tasks
Perform civil engineering design and associated calculations
Interpret plans from all engineering-related disciplines
Apply technical knowledge on conventional and unconventional projects
Perform independent research and manage changing priorities
Adhere to Horrocks safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment
Work in a collaborative team environment to deliver accurate work products that are error-free
Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
B.S. in Civil Engineering
Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
Have a strong sense of urgency, time management, and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
Motivated to learn from others in a team environment
Prioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines, answering to various engineers and project managers
Be able to develop designs and documentation using AutoCAD 3D Civil and other design software
Manage project data files from various sources
Be proactive and responsive in effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in-person and virtually/remotely
Ability to travel locally and obtain field data on occasion
Must be able to work independently with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks, with competing priorities
