Description
The Supply Technician is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory control and ensuring accountability of materials and equipment within a warehouse or supply environment. This role applies stock control practices such as bin and location management, monitoring reorder levels, tracking due‑ins and due‑outs, managing back orders, and performing reconciliations. The technician conducts and documents cyclic and wall‑to‑wall inventories, researches discrepancies, and implements corrective actions with proper supporting documentation.
The position requires maintaining audit‑ready property accountability, including handling sensitive or controlled items, executing custody transfers, and adhering to chain‑of‑custody procedures and property book requirements. Responsibilities also include performing receiving inspections to identify overages, shortages, or damages; preparing discrepancy reports; and supporting outbound shipments with proper packing, labeling, and shipping documentation in compliance with established standards.
The Supply Technician coordinates with transportation and shipping personnel to ensure timely and accurate movement of goods and generates routine reports on inventory accuracy, due‑outs, turn‑ins, and receiving status for review by government leads. The role requires certification to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment and the ability to work efficiently in a warehouse environment while maintaining strict attention to detail and accountability.
Duties and Responsibilities
Apply stock control practices: bin/location management, reorder levels, due‑ins/due‑outs, backorder tracking, and reconciliation.
Conduct and document cyclic inventories and/or wall‑to‑wall inventories; research and correct variances with supporting documentation.
Maintain audit‑ready accountability for equipment/material, including handling of sensitive/controlled items, custody transfer documentation, chain‑of‑custody principles, and understanding of property book/accountability concepts.
Perform receiving inspections; identify overages, shortages, damages; prepare discrepancy documentation; prepare outbound shipments with correct packing, labeling, and shipping documentation; coordinate with transportation/shipping functions and comply with packaging standards.
Generate routine reports (inventory accuracy, due‑outs, turn‑ins, receiving status) and brief results to government leads.
Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies
Minimum 7 years of experience in Property Accountability Management, including experience with DoD property book systems, tactical property books, or equivalent military/federal property management systems.
Must possess forklift and other material handling equipment certifications.
