Position Summary
Leadership position responsible for planning, managing, and implementing a portfolio of transformation focused program initiatives that develop process innovation and continuous improvement capabilities across the enterprise. Provides leadership, guidance, and support to owners to help them achieve continuous improvement goals. Fosters a culture of sustainable change through embedding continuous improvement methodologies and tools to deliver business transformation. Manages business results and the daily operation of a team of One Way Expert coaches that provides continuous improvement identification, development, and implementation support to the enterprise for a portfolio of initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities
Project Management: Develop work plans, budgets, and cost/benefit analyses. Align direct reports to prioritized process improvement activities. Support and drive successful delivery of committed project benefits and operational metrics. Ensure lessons learned are effectively applied to subsequent efforts.
Team Management: Manage and lead a team whose primary responsibility is to provide continuous improvement support to the enterprise for a portfolio of initiatives. Manage the daily operation of the team and business results. Support, coach and develop direct reports to ensure objectives are achieved effectively and efficiently.
Coach & Mentor: Coach BU leadership and senior leadership through change and BU Continuous improvement Champions on improvement activities, expectations, and opportunities. Provide coaching and training to less experienced team members.
Opportunity Identification & Business Case Development: Responsible for the identification of improvement opportunities within their Enterprise Process value streams; quantifying the impact (value) across the streams; and securing approvals. Supports the Enterprise prioritization and governance process and leads the business case development.
Continuous Improvement: Engage owners across various enterprise process streams responsible for identifying and driving process improvements. Acts as a key liaison between Business Unit Leadership, Finance, Technology Services, and the Innovation and Transformation Office. Drives enterprise capability building and process management activities. Continually identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. Provide strategic change management consultation for process improvement initiatives.
Relationship Management: Effectively communicate and build relationships with front line through executive leadership. Develop and sustain strong relationship with vendors, leadership teams, business management personnel, program/project managers/leads.
Financial Management: Assist with management of project financials including budgeting, forecasting, and actuals tracking.
KPI Development & Tracking: Influence Enterprise and process level metrics accountability across multiple process streams at the Program level.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree
At least 5 years related business area/industry experience
Internal/External consulting experience leading improvement and transformation initiatives
Ability to effectively communicate to a variety of audiences and analyze complex business scenarios
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others
Ability to adapt to change quickly and work within a diverse, cross-functional team environment
Change management and program/project management experience
Understand and effectively translate technological and business language
Understanding of core business processes/industry trends with ability to interpret and react to ongoing changes
Preferred Qualifications
Gas and/or Electric Utility Industry experience
MBA, Industrial Engineering, or other related certification
Business process management skillset including Six Sigma/Lean Toolsets, Kaizen, and data management skillsets
PMP certification
Demonstrated experience leading a Lean Expert Program or similar enterprise capability development program residing inside of a corporate lean office, including cohort design, candidate selection, curriculum governance, coaching model, and sustainment expectations
Proven ability to translate improvement work into measurable business value, including financial and operational outcomes
Demonstrated ability to connect improvement and capability-building efforts to strategy deployment / plan deployment, ensuring the portfolio remains aligned to enterprise priorities
Demonstrated success establishing and sustaining common standards, language, and ways of working across business units to enable enterprise-scale continuous improvement
