Facilities Associate

Job Summary
This is a working “half handyman” position that reports directly to the Manager, Facilities. The role provides day‑to‑day support including basic troubleshooting, on‑site vendor and contractor coordination, CMMS tracking, and other maintenance related tasks as needed. Work is performed indoors and outdoors in a fast‑paced, multi‑task environment that can be repetitive with frequent interruptions.

Education & Experience
Required

High School Diploma or GED

2 years of hands‑on experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or general handyman‑type work

Ability to read and interpret basic schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, and facility layouts

Ability to assist with on‑site vendor and contractor management (escort vendors to issue locations, clearly explain problems, and coordinate basic work)

Ability to regularly lift, carry, and move items up to 25 lbs

Working knowledge of basic facilities systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical) sufficient to diagnose routine issues

Valid Arizona Driver’s License with good driving record

Preferred

Previous customer service experience

Some background or training in safety programs, safety awareness, or OSHA‑related topics

Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

Experience working in multi‑site facilities operations

Key Responsibilities

Performs routine preventative maintenance and general hands‑on repairs on buildings, equipment, and infrastructure (including basic HVAC troubleshooting, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural items).

Assists the Manager, Facilities with managing vendors and contractors: research and vendor selection, meeting them upon arrival, showing problem areas, clearly explaining issues, and ensuring work is completed correctly.

Utilizes the CMMS to create, track, update, and close work orders; documents preventive maintenance; and maintains inventory of supplies, parts, and assets.

Assists the Manager, Facilities with PO requests.

Supports daily facilities operations and maintenance across all nine sites.

Coordinates and supports maintenance of corporate and field facilities either directly or through service vendors (janitorial, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, furniture, landscaping, building controls, and structural repairs).

Reviews invoices for services performed, verifies accuracy for payment, and works with vendors to correct any errors.

Tracks and maintains inventory of supplies: lighting, filters, and other building/office supplies; places orders as needed.

Participates in the planning, coordination, and implementation of various facilities projects.

Demonstrates empathy and support for internal customer apprehension and alleviates concerns related to project or service impacts on their jobs, environment, or operations.

Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Availability to cover any work shift as needed; willing to be available after normal work hours related to facilities issues or conditions as needed.

Works within a standard office environment, at construction project sites, and outdoors with travel daily between building locations with minimal long distance travel required.

Physical labor required daily working on ladders, moving supplies, parts or materials, and completing service requests in support of Facilities service responsibilities.

Some clean‑up of work areas and resolving minor restroom plumbing issues required daily.

Facilities has security responsibilities related to the physical security of the property. Must have a willingness to support security responsibilities falling under Facilities as needed.
