Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the Imaging Manager, this position is responsible for the operation of Radiology Services to the Inpatient and Outpatient Departments at Renown. The incumbent performs complex exams as part of the diagnostic team and oversaw all radiographic functions including coordinating specialized equipment, calculating technical factors, radiation safety, equipment maintenance, quality assurance, film processing, and maintaining adequate inventory. Radiology services are provided to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, ensuring optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Operation and Patient Care
The role involves operating imaging equipment, verifying and executing physician’s orders for diagnostic and therapeutic exams, ensuring proper preparation and safety for patients during procedures, regulating patient flow, consulting with Radiologists to determine contrast quality, and making necessary corrections to improve image quality. The incumbent also handles billing, supplies stocking, file maintenance, medical charting, informed consent documentation, quality improvement studies, patient history/symptoms acquisition, and may assist other modalities within Renown Health System.

Nature and Scope
The incumbent performs diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures of the human body using radiographic principles per guidelines recommended by Merrill’s Anatomy and Positioning reference manual and Renown Regional Medical Center Diagnostic Radiographic Department Policy and Procedure Manual. The position requires assessing neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families, operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with Radiologists.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Must have working‑level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Preference will be given to applicants with an Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or completion of an AMA‑approved hospital‑based program.

Licensure
State of Nevada license for Medical Radiography.

Certification
Must obtain American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification within one year of employment (except for code 530264 which does not require ARRT certification). AHA BLS certification within sixty days of employment.

Computer / Typing
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job‑specific competencies, access online forms and policies, and complete online benefits enrollment.
