Deputy Charge Nurse
We are seeking a motivated, compassionate and clinically confident Deputy Charge Nurse to join our dynamic team within our Adult Mental Health Inpatient Service in Ward 4. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mental health nurse who is passionate about delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care and is ready to take the next step in leadership.
Key responsibilities
Support the Senior Charge Nurse in the day‑to‑day running of the ward.
Provide visible leadership and support staff development.
Ensure safe and effective delivery of care within a busy acute mental health environment.
Play a key role in clinical decision‑making, patient flow, risk management and maintaining high standards of care.
Working hours
12‑hour shift pattern day
ight rotation. During periods when the Senior Charge Nurse is on annual leave, the postholder will be required to work 07:30–15:30.
Additional information for candidates
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
