Job Description

Prepare, process, and embed tissue specimens for microscopic examination by the pathologist

Perform microtomy, staining, and coverslipping with a strong focus on quality and consistency

Partner with pathologists to support diagnostic workflows and special requests

Ensure accurate and reliable results by strictly adhering to established quality control programs

Conduct routine instrument checks and preventive maintenance in accordance with departmental policies

Maintain detailed records, logs, and statistical data to meet regulatory and accreditation standards

Train and mentor new employees and students on laboratory procedures and best practices

Provide flexible support across shifts to ensure seamless lab operations

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in Histotechnology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling at least two years

Meets testing personnel qualifications as defined by CLIA (Title 42, Sec. 493.1489)

Required Certifications

ASCP HT (or equivalent) certification required

Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
