Responsibilities
Stay with and monitor the patient throughout labor.
Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques.
Check cervix periodically to monitor progression/lack of dilation.
Ensure beds are kept clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids expelled before and after the birthing process.
Aid physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, etc.
Provide immediate care of newborn.
Qualifications
ACLS, BLS, NRP certifications.
3 years of recent acute care experience.
Ready to stand, walk, bend, lean, stoop; able to lift 20–50 pounds.
Good stress‑coping skills and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
