Responsibilities
Provide physical therapy assistant services under supervision to residents in a skilled nursing setting.
Implement and adjust treatment plans prescribed by the physical therapist, including therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, transfers, and modalities as appropriate.
Document patient evaluation and treatment progress in the chart per policy.
Collaborate with the therapy team and nursing staff to support goals and discharge planning.
Ensure patient safety, infection control, and adherence to privacy standards during therapy sessions.
Communicate treatment plans and progress clearly to residents and families as appropriate.
Requirements
Current PTA license in Texas or eligibility for licensure.
Ability to work days and commit to a 13-week travel assignment with guaranteed hours.
Prior experience in geriatric/long-term care or skilled nursing facility settings is preferred.
Strong documentation and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively under supervision.
Willingness to comply with facility policies and credentialing processes.
