Job Summary
Multi Modality Technologist – Radiology Diagnostic at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital, San Marcos, TX. The role requires competency in two or more modalities (Diagnostic Radiology, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Special Procedures, Nuclear Medicine, or Mammography). The technician works with minimal supervision, performing technical procedures, coordinating patient care, and maintaining equipment and documentation.
Responsibilities
Meet expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies (Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders).
Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures, including complex tasks, using state‑of‑the‑art computerized imaging equipment across multiple modalities.
Maintain flexibility to work competently in assigned modalities as needed.
Interact appropriately with patients and all care providers, coordinating and prioritizing procedures during the workday.
Rotate within departments or clinics for proper coverage as needed.
Program the computer after procedures to ensure exam completion and correct storage of scan data in PACS.
Ensure exam rooms are neat, clean, and adequately stocked, and comply with Infection Control standards.
Ensure all charges are correctly coded and entered in the billing system.
Protect patient confidentiality and refrain from soliciting or disclosing confidential information unless necessary for job duties.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Provide excellent customer service.
Adapt assessment, treatment, and care methods to accommodate the unique needs of each patient.
Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards set by state, federal, hospital, and other regulatory entities.
Demonstrate adherence to the Core values of CHRISTUS Health.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Skills
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted equivalent.
Experience
1 year of experience in a medical setting.
Basic computer experience.
Excellent customer service experience.
Licenses, Registrations and Certifications
Active primary modality registry/certification (e.g., Radiography (R) – ARRT, Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) – ARRT or NMTCB, Sonography (S) – ARRT or ARDMS).
Active post‑primary modality registry/certification (e.g., Mammography (M) – ARRT, CT – ARRT, MRI – ARRT, Bone Densitometry (BD) – ARRT, Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) – ARRT, Breast Sonography – ARRT, Vascular Sonography (VS) – ARRT).
State licensure based on modality (e.g., Texas: MRT by TMB).
BLS required.
