Role Overview
The
Maintenance Electrician (2nd Shift)
is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing
industrial electrical systems , supporting both plant operations and construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of
low and high‑voltage systems, schematics, and NEC standards , along with hands‑on experience in troubleshooting and system diagnostics.
The ideal candidate brings experience with
PLC systems, blueprint interpretation, and construction environments , ensuring safe and efficient operation of electrical equipment across multiple settings.
Job Requirements
Proven experience as an
industrial or commercial electrician , with a strong background in electrical systems maintenance.
Solid understanding of
NEC standards, schematics, blueprint reading, and wiring diagrams .
Experience working with
low‑voltage and high‑voltage electrical systems .
Familiarity with
programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
for troubleshooting and automation support.
Experience using
hand tools, power tools, multimeters, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment .
Exposure to
construction site environments, including renovation projects .
Strong understanding of
electrical installations and system layouts .
Comfortable working
both independently and within a team in fast‑paced environments .
Strong
problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
when diagnosing electrical issues.
Relevant electrical certifications or licenses preferred (based on project requirements).
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform
tasks involving standing, walking, and hands‑on
electrical work throughout the shift.
Frequent use of
tools and equipment for installation, maintenance, and repairs .
Work may involve
construction or industrial environments , requiring mobility and adaptability.
Work performed in industrial facilities and construction sites.
Exposure to active electrical systems, tools, and equipment.
Requires adherence to strict safety protocols and electrical codes.
Key Responsibilities
Install & Repair Electrical Systems:
Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and components using appropriate tools and testing equipment.
Read & Interpret Technical Documents:
Analyze schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to perform accurate installations and repairs.
Maintain Electrical Systems:
Support both low- and high‑voltage systems while ensuring compliance with NEC standards.
Support PLC Systems:
Program and troubleshoot PLC systems to maintain automation and operational efficiency.
Perform Preventive Inspections:
Conduct routine inspections to identify and resolve potential issues before they lead to failures.
Support Construction & Renovation Projects:
Assist with electrical work on construction and renovation projects, collaborating with other trades.
Ensure Safety Compliance:
Follow all electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
Use Tools & Equipment : Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete tasks efficiently.
Document Work & Report Issues:
Maintain records of maintenance activities and report system failures or safety concerns.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
