
Laboratory Technician II - Anatomic Pathology

The Department of Pathology is seeking a Laboratory Technician II to perform difficult technical procedures and allied duties related to the function of a service laboratory. Under general supervision, the technician maintains laboratory area and equipment, processes specimens, performs computer/clerical duties, routine lab maintenance, and supply distribution. This position is 100%-time, Monday – Friday, 8‑hour shifts between 0500–1930, based on the needs of the lab.
Duties To Include
Delivers completed cases to appropriate personnel in the department of anatomic pathology (match‑up).
Maintains Hematoxylin and Eosin automated stainer.
Files paraffin blocks and unstained slides.
Demonstrates effective communication skills.
Performs other projects and tasks as assigned.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
Two years of related laboratory experience, including one year as a Laboratory Technician I or equivalent level experience.
Certified Laboratory Assistant (CLA) certification.
Any combination of related post‑high‑school education and experience which totals two years.
Desirable Qualifications
Medical terminology
MLA(ASCP) certification or eligible.
