Position Overview
Pennsy Supply is looking to add motivated
Quality Control Technicians
to our staff today. We believe that Quality Control plays an important role in our ability to remain competitive and offer innovative solutions to our customers. To meet these objectives, Pennsy Supply offers competitive compensation, benefits and a program to support the pursuit of independent certifications to increase the employee’s overall knowledge and professional credentials. The right candidate will be self‑motivated, willing to learn new tasks, open to traveling to multiple locations, and willing to cross‑train within Pennsy Supply’s different product lines. For those qualifying, in addition to base compensation Pennsy Supply will pay for the following expenses associated with obtaining approved certifications:
Exam registration fees
Reference and study guides
Normal travel expenses associated with training and testing at the local level
Fees associated with renewal and/or re‑certifications
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance of all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
Availability to work days, nights and/or weekends, as necessary
Monitor and test process functions & materials daily to ensure our products meet or exceed requirements of the appropriate agency or customer
Correct any deviations in these processes or materials from the requirements
Prepare and record accurate information and forward to personnel in a timely manner
Follow quality control plans or guidelines as assigned
Evaluate data for deviations or trends away from accepted standards
Obtain ACI, PennDOT, NECEPT and other required certifications in a timely manner
Assist internal and external customers in any quality related matters
Occasionally climb steps/ladders to perform scale checks on blacktop and concrete plants
Shovel and carry material in buckets for testing
Lift up to 50lbs
Effectively communicate between contractors, dispatch, sales, operations, labs and drivers
Monitor materials testing on jobsites to ensure proper procedures are being followed
Coordinate trucks on jobsites if needed
Keep work area in a clean and orderly manner
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Must submit to a drug screen and criminal background check.
Current Driver's License and reliable source of transportation.
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co‑workers, supervisors, customers, and the general public at all times.
Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
Strict adherence to Pennsy Supply, Inc. Safety Manual.
Strict adherence to Pennsy Supply, Inc. policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or supervisors with other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Previous quality control experience preferred.
