Mental Health Associate Manager Opportunity

At Arbour Hospital - Jamaica Plain, we work diligently and compassionately to provide patients and their families with high-quality care and service excellence across a continuum of specialized behavioral health services. We have proudly served the residents of the greater Boston area since 1909. Our medical staff consists of psychiatrists who average 20 years of practice at our facility, providing a solid and trusted foundation for our patient-focused approach to behavioral healthcare. We are an important community resource for a wide range of vital behavioral healthcare services. We treat primary psychiatric and substance abuse disorders and constantly strive to meet the needs of our communities with treatment that addresses individualized behavioral health needs. We stand ready to provide compassionate care through inpatient treatment and a strong continuum of aftercare services, community-based programs, and day treatment.

The Mental Health Associate Manager is responsible for ensuring the milieu on each of the units is engaging with and to the patients. Is responsible for accomplishing department objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating unit milieu. The MHA Manager also acts as a Human Rights Officer (HRO). Our positions require employees to work every other weekend and there is a competitive shift differential for the evening, night, and weekend shifts.

As a Mental Health Associate Manager, you will:

Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment

Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment

Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors

Assist with patient groups and activities

Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet their individual needs

Provide trauma informed and age-specific care

Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques

Qualifications
Requirements

High School Degree or equivalent is required; Bachelor's Degree is preferred

3-5 years experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting is required

College student who have obtained or are pursuing their degree in behavioral health, psychology, or human services are preferred

Excellent communication & interpersonal skills

Impeccable Judgment & professionalism

Ability to maintain composure in a crisis situation
