Operations Crew Member – Lamar Advertising
Our Lamar office in Amarillo, Texas is hiring a new Operations crew member to help us bring outdoor advertising campaigns to life for brands in Amarillo, TX and surrounding areas. This action‑packed role involves installing and maintaining billboards, including the installation of advertisements, maintenance of structures, and upkeep of billboard aesthetics. Most often, the position works as part of an installation crew.

Responsibilities

Install and maintain all billboards.

Remove and hang flexes, vinyls; cut, prepare and install copy on Tri‑Visions.

Perform structure repairs such as tightening bolts, painting structures, repairing trim, changing light bulbs, and assembling structures and faces.

Build and install extensions; cut brush/weeds, conduct storm damage repairs, minor electrical repairs, and clean workshop area.

Use power and manual tools while adhering to all safety regulations.

Attend safety meetings as required.

Maintain operation vehicles, tools, equipment, and machinery.

Take completion photos for proof of performance.

An hourly range of $17.50‑$18.50, depending on experience.

Qualifications

Good communication skills; fluency in English.

Team player with willingness to work well with others.

Basic computer skills including internet navigation, Microsoft Word & Excel.

Compliance with Lamar safety standards.

Ability to work from ladders and carry ladders/tools to the worksite from vehicle.

Working knowledge of electrical skills and techniques.

Working knowledge of fabrication skills and techniques.

Reading technical documents such as blueprints and diagrams.

Knowledge of Lamar, DOT, and OSHA safety regulations.

Safe use of construction equipment for outdoor structures.

Safe climbing to heights above ground.

Documentation of installations through photographs and written logs.

Practical application of mathematics in construction and operations tasks.

Prioritization skills reflecting relative importance of job responsibilities.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

A valid driver’s license is required.

Completion of OSHA 10‑hour Construction course.

Preferred certifications: CDL/Non‑CDL, Crane, Signal, Rigging, or LDD, depending on location.

Previous experience working at heights up to 200 ft. above ground preferred.

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Primary work environment is outdoors; requires ability to work in adverse weather and climb to heights up to 200 ft.

Heavy lifting (up to 100 lb), extensive bending, pushing, reaching, seeing requirements, limited sitting time, standing, stooping, walking, driving, and climbing.

Nights spent away from home traveling are less than 10 %.

On‑call shifts may be required.
