Compressor Mechanic

Position Summary & Responsibilities
The Compressor Mechanic is responsible for performing skilled tasks including all levels of field maintenance, troubleshooting, direct repairs, overhauls and scheduled preventative maintenance on compressors/generators. This role reports to the Foreman.

Special focus will be placed on:

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of compressors/generators

Troubleshoot and diagnose all levels of compressor/generator system shutdowns and failures

Order and stock maintenance and repair parts as needed

Ensure equipment is operating under current emissions guidelines/standards

Complete necessary paperwork/data entry

Understand and comply with all company safety practices, policies and procedures

Handle emergency callouts as needed

Ensure active and open communication with field operations

Perform other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor

Position Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

A minimum of four years’ experience in a similar role.

Proficient in engine and compressor maintenance and strong mechanical aptitude.

Basic understanding of surface production equipment and applications.

Must have proven mechanical aptitude.

CAT Engine Certification and Ariel Compressor experience a plus.

Must be responsible, diligent and able to self‑motivate and work independently under little supervision.

Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.

Strong communication skills.

Ability to work overtime and holidays as needed.

Ability to be flexible with the shift schedule.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Must be able to move or traverse from one location on the job site to another. This includes the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, frequently positioning oneself (e.g., to stoop, kneel, or squat) to perform tasks, and occasionally ascend/descend (e.g., ladders or uneven terrain).

Ability to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and assess driving operations effectively (either naturally or with corrective lenses).

Ability to operate a 4X4 vehicle.

Must be able to repetitively move or position feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, and back. Constantly operates, uses, and positions hands and fingers in performance of work.

Must be able to work atop elevated surfaces and traverse various heights.

Lifts or carries 85 lbs. or more, which falls into the "heavy" category (over 50 pounds).

Frequently pushes and pulls with a maximum force of 150 ft./lbs.

Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions and is exposed to varying environmental conditions, including well site conditions. The position requires the ability to perform tasks in physically demanding environments, encompassing the essential physical requirements and efforts outline.

Driver Requirements

Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.

This position involves operating a company vehicle for work‑related travel or receiving a stipend for operating a personal vehicle for company use; adherence to all traffic laws and company vehicle policies is required.

Candidates must be eligible to be insured under the company’s vehicle insurance policy.
