
PATIENT ACCESS REGISTRAR/NIGHT SHIFT

Responsibilities
University Behavioral Center of Orlando, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is committed to providing intensive mental health services to children, adolescents and adults as well as detox and substance abuse programs for adults. Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a beautiful 14‑acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds.
Position Summary
The Patient Access registrar role is a clerical position involving multiple tasks and functions to facilitate the flow of patient information across the continuum of care.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
The Patient Access Registrar (PAR) is primarily responsible for answering and appropriately managing incoming telephone calls scheduling patient assessments/appointments, creating pre-registrations including verification of benefits and financial counseling. It is also responsible for performing various administrative and clerical duties required to support these functions and, on an as‑needed basis, may be required to perform other tasks. Assists with obtaining accurate patient demographics upon admission/registration. Assist with obtaining required income documentation and forms for patients who qualify for Charity/Indigent Care.
This is a Full‑Time position/Night Shift.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum one (1) year business office experience preferred in a health care/insurance setting with computer knowledge and data entry skills. Spanish speaking skills preferred.
Ability to deal with diverse and stress related situations in a calm manner.
Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Must have good organizational and computer technical skills and have the ability to set priorities.
Handle with Care Crisis Intervention Training required (Can be obtained upon hire)
Current CPR Certification required (Can be obtained upon hire)
