About Your Role
CMTS is seeking a detail‑oriented QA/QC Specialist – Design to support capital improvement projects for the Dallas Independent School District (DISD). This role focuses on ensuring design quality across all project phases by reviewing drawings, specifications, and coordination efforts to ensure consistency, completeness, and constructability. The QA/QC Specialist will work closely with design teams, project managers, and field personnel to identify and resolve design issues before construction.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field required
Required Qualifications
5–8 years of experience in construction, design coordination, or QA/QC support roles
Experience reviewing construction drawings and specifications
Understanding of construction processes and coordination between design and field execution
Strong attention to detail with ability to identify inconsistencies in documents
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems
Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with K‑12, higher education, or public‑sector construction programs
Familiarity with Bluebeam, BIM coordination tools, or document review platforms
Experience with PMIS platforms such as e‑Builder, Procore, or PMWeb
Knowledge of building systems including MEP and building envelope components
Exposure to QA/QC programs and quality management systems
Key Responsibilities
Support design quality reviews across schematic design, design development, and construction document phases
Review drawings and specifications for coordination, completeness, and compliance with program standards
Identify design discrepancies, conflicts, and gaps impacting construction quality or performance
Coordinate with Quality Manager to track and resolve design review comments
Verify incorporation of QA/QC comments into updated drawing sets and specifications
Maintain QA/QC checklists, standards, and review protocols
Support constructability reviews for feasibility, sequencing, and execution planning
Coordinate between design and field teams to ensure alignment with design intent
Review bid documents during procurement for clarity and completeness
Track recurring design issues and contribute to lessons learned and process improvements
Maintain organized QA/QC documentation, logs, and records
Participate in design coordination meetings and quality review sessions
