Research Assistant
Lawrence Technological University, Lawrence, KS, United States
Overview
DEPARTMENT:
Electrical & Computer Engineering
TYPE:
Full-Time
SUMMARY:
This full-time research-assistant will work on the project: non-invasive mechanical characterization of engineered blood vessels. The person will work on both hands‑on experiments and computer simulation.
Job Duties
Other duties may be assigned. This person will work with Dr. Jinjun Xia on engineered blood vessel Young’s modulus measurements using novel non‑contact optical ealastography system developed in Dr. Xia’s lab; do simulation using Matlab programming to extract Young’s modulus and viscosity based on measured acoustic wave propagation; measure mechanical parameters of engineered blood vessels under different physiological conditions and extract the related parameter; write manuscripts with Dr. Xia’s support for high‑quality journal publications; help with the hardware system development.
Qualifications
The position requires basic biomedical engineering knowledge, basic electrical engineering skills and knowledge and some optical and ultrasound engineering knowledge. This position requires Matlab programming proficiency.
