This medical center is a Level 3 Trauma Certified facility with 162 beds, providing comprehensive emergency and surgical services to the community. The hospital offers modern surgical facilities with strong support systems for physicians on call.

Physician - Surgery - General
Job Details:
• General Surgery Call for ER/Trauma and Inpatient Coverage
• Schedule: Friday 1/23/2026 at 7AM to Monday 2/2/2026 at 7AM
• Approximately 1-5 patient encounters per shift
• No outpatient clinic responsibilities - focus on emergency/trauma call
• Must have current New Mexico License, New Mexico controlled substance license and DEA
• Board Certification Eligible required
• ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications required
• Provide adult and pediatric general surgery services
• Experience with trauma cases essential
• Perform laparoscopic procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty
• Chest wall/pleural procedures required
• GI endoscopy skills required (upper and lower, including sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy)
• Must be proficient in chest tube insertion, central line insertion, and PA catheter placement
• Experience with vascular access devices preferred
• Some pediatric surgical procedures may be required (intestinal artesias, biliary artesias, abdominal wall defects)
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
