The Professional Practice Specialist (PPS) works directly with organizational nursing leaders and multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate activities which promote excellence in nursing. The PPS reports to ministry nursing practice leader and/or facility CNO. The Specialist models the principles of evidence-based practice throughout the organization and ensures compliance with regulation and accreditation processes. This role supports nursing by serving as a resource to coordinate policy/procedure/protocol/standard work review and revisions, as needed. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Position Details
The Professional Practice Specialist collaborates with nursing leadership and multidisciplinary teams to promote nursing excellence and evidence-based practice within the organization. This role ensures regulatory and accreditation compliance and acts as a resource for policy, procedure, protocol, standard work review and revisions.
Responsibilities
Coordinate policy, procedure, protocol, and standard work review and revisions as needed.
Model and promote evidence-based practice across the organization.
Assure compliance with regulatory and accreditation processes.
Serve as a resource to nursing and interdisciplinary teams on practice standards and guidelines.
Collaborate with nursing leaders to drive initiatives that support mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Qualifications
Education : Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with master’s degree in a healthcare-related field.
Lum serse: RN with current unrestricted license in the State of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, or Oklahoma.
Experience : Minimum of 3–5 years clinical hospital experience.
Certification/Registration : Evidence Based Practice Certification (EBP-C) within 2 years of hire.
Other : Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Education : DNP, PhD (or comparable) in nursing-related field.
Preferred Certification/Registration : EBP-C.
Preferred Other : Must be able to function well with a high degree of independence and initiative and possess in-depth knowledge of nursing practice; project management experience; leadership and human relations and organizational skills; ability to collaborate and facilitate within groups and between departments; Proficient in Word, Excel, EPIC, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.
