Job Description
The Harvard Global Health Institute (HGHI) is an inter‑faculty initiative that facilitates collaboration across the Harvard community and partners worldwide to advance global health equity. We tackle the greatest health challenges of our time through innovative transdisciplinary research, education, and partnerships that build knowledge and catalyze positive change in global health. Reporting to the Associate Director of Programs, the successful candidate will support the ongoing operations of the Programs team and play a significant role in ensuring that logistical needs are met for HGHI programming.
Job‑Specific Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate logistics and agenda for team meetings, workshops, and other engagements, including setting agendas, summarizing meeting notes, collecting and distributing project materials, booking rooms, and coordinating A/V needs.
Serve as a point of contact for internal and external partners, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day flow of communications between the program team and partners and other stakeholders.
Draft, edit, and prepare correspondence and other materials as required by the Programs team; research, evaluate, and maintain resources that support the needs of the team; gather, help summarize data, and assist with report preparation.
Work closely with the Programs Team and Communications Manager to organize in‑person and virtual events including symposia, webinars, workshops, and scholarly working groups. Duties include preparation of materials, on‑site and online support, registration management, and evaluation.
Support implementation of faculty‑led projects, fellowships and student engagement activities. Anticipate and resolve problems and update supervisor on status of projects.
Collaborate with the finance team to track project spending, reconcile corporate card and P‑card transactions, and coordinate guest/speaker reimbursements, following Harvard’s finance and travel policy.
Qualifications
Minimum of three years of related experience; education beyond high school may count toward years of experience.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi‑task; proven project and/or program management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong computer literacy, and the ability to be tactful, discreet, and exercise sound judgment.
Self‑driven, skilled at problem solving and anticipating needs; proven record of communicating and working with a broad range of constituents and stakeholders.
Interest in global health or public health.
Additional Information
Standard Hours/Schedule: 35 hours per week.

This position will have a 3‑month orientation and review period.

This position may involve duties performed at a non‑Harvard location. The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based on operational needs. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard‑designated location, hybrid positions must work in a Harvard‑registered state in compliance with the University’s policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
