As a Construction Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of AWS data center construction in Southeast Asia, including site feasibility, design procurement, construction oversight, and commissioning. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver safety, security, and operational excellence while maintaining quality and cost targets.
The Data Center Construction Manager is responsible for day‑to‑day construction oversight and management of contractors, and acts as the lead in areas such as construction management, building services, architecture, electrical or mechanical engineering, delivering sophisticated systems.
Key job responsibilities include:
Project management and oversight of construction activities for new builds or capital projects in Malaysia, owning project scope, timeline, and budgets.
Driving cost reductions and schedule efficiencies while maintaining quality.
Providing construction management for initiatives to increase resiliency.
Reviewing constructability of electrical, mechanical, and building designs for new or existing data centers.
Developing project scope, equipment requirements and managing RFP and capital requests.
Assisting with commissioning and integrated system testing, overseeing execution.
Managing RFIs and coordinating construction administration with engineers.
Recording and reporting key metrics to team members and management.
Managing multiple concurrent projects, including new builds and improvement projects.
Providing operational support for installed facilities, reviewing procedures and maintenance initiatives.
Leading within the group and external teams that support the data center.
Traveling to data center sites for audits, reviews, and commissioning as required.
A day in the life includes working with project managers, design engineers, commissioning managers, software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers.
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.
Knowledge of critical data center equipment and engineering documentation.
Experience with electrical diagrams, operating procedures, building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA.
Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domains.
