Job Summary
Position: PRN Echocardiographer
An echo tech is a cardiovascular technologist who specializes in using non-invasive imaging technology to analyze a patient's heart, specifically the function of its veins, arteries, chambers, and valves.
Responsibilities
Calibrate and use medical diagnostic imaging machines to capture images of a patient's heart.
Operate an echocardiography machine to record and assess wall motion, valvular function, and kinesis of the heart for diagnosing cardiac and valvular disorders.
Assist with stress testing and other non-invasive cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures requested by the physician and according to departmental demands.
Demonstrate competency in all areas of echocardiography including transthoracic echo, transesophageal echo, stress echo, and pharmacologic induced stress echo.
Qualifications
Minimum one year technical training in an approved AMA/ACCA Sonographer Program with a Certificate of Completion.
Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) and BLS certification required.
Minimum one year of recent hospital or clinical experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of 12‑Lead ECG interpretation.
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
(RCS/RDCS), Associate Degree, or equivalent work experience must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
No travel required.
