Kwik Trip’s Food Protection Department is looking for a self-motivated Laboratory Technician.
Job Description
This individual will be responsible for ensuring that all sample preparation and sampling is completed in a timely manner in order to maintain laboratory productivity and efficiency. In addition, their role is to help maintain a sterile laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
Collect necessary plant environmental samples
Properly handle and precisely measure laboratory samples using aseptic technique
Perform aseptic sample analysis according to applicable ISO 17025 guidelines and following appropriate laboratory procedures and approved testing methods
Prepare appropriate laboratory media and solutions
Maintain laboratory cleanliness while documenting laboratory maintenance and cleaning activities
Complete necessary laboratory documentation
Complete routine equipment maintenance and laboratory quality checks
Qualifications
Associates degree in related field
Basic Microsoft Office skills
Proficient at aseptic technique
Read and understand English, verbalize English and perform procedures as written
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to troubleshoot quickly
Effective multi-tasking ability
Laboratory sciences or food safety experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to the ability to stand on feet for the majority of the work day and the ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
Specific vision requirements include the ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work schedule
Monday - Friday 8am - 4p with rotating weekends and holidays
