Job Description Summary
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
The Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is the entity for this role. Worker Type is Employee and Worker Sub-Type is Regular. Pay Rate Type is Hourly and Pay Grade is Health-28. Scheduled Weekly Hours are 40. Work Shift details are provided below.
Job Summary/Purpose
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
Minimum Training and Education
Associate degree in nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations
Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, either via American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, and kneeling; ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted; ability to transfer and move patients with assistance as needed.
Visual and auditory acuity; color perception; depth perception; good peripheral vision; corrected hearing.
Ability to work in varying environments, including indoor/outdoor conditions and confined spaces; ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
Ability to adhere to infection control protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Requirements: Associate's Degree and at least one year of RN work experience; licensure by SC Board of Nursing or a compact state; current BLS certification.
Physical Requirements
Stand or sit for extended periods; manual dexterity for vitals, injections, and exams.
Ability to lift/move patients or equipment; visual and auditory requirements for chart review and communication.
Mobility to navigate clinical environments and comply with infection control protocols.
